I was born in an ordinary Chinese family, very different from those of western cultures. While western families are more independent and appreciate others’ privacy, Chinese families involve themselves heavily in the lives of others.
This upbringing  taught  me how to pay attention and care about other people’s feelings. This habit has also helped me build better empathy with people when I design products. What I care about the most in the entire design process is users’ feelings. By recognizing their pain points and needs, I then  translate these insights into design with the hope that, what I craft for them can enrich their  daily lives, as well as their relationships with others, into something more intimate and beautiful.

It is amazing to see that people nowadays can so easily connect with strangers through the platforms like Airbnb, Lyft and etc, where bonds of trust and belonging are connected with another.  It’s not just about sharing the resources, but  how people can build connection, and trust upon each other. For me, design isn’t just about execution; it’s about making what I believe to come true through the strong skill sets I have, to utilize them as tools so that I can break barriers, facilitate more meaningful connections, and optimize communication to create trust in our world. When people collaborate closely with another greater things will be created. When people live together in harmony, society will become better.
